Problem

Part 1: After collaborating with numerous local communities, we've identified a recurring obstacle they encounter when endeavoring to launch their own businesses—the absence of essential skills. This challenge has inspired us to launch a campaign with the overarching goal of cultivating a new generation within these communities. We believe that by empowering individuals with the skills they require, we can enhance their earning potential, ultimately leading to improved living standards for both themselves and the communities they call home.

Our vision extends beyond immediate improvements in livelihoods; it's about creating a sustainable ripple effect that resonates through generations. By addressing the skill gap within these local communities, we aim to ensure that the knowledge and expertise gained will be passed down to future generations. This not only boosts personal income but also fosters self-reliance and a stronger sense of community.

Part 2: In our pursuit of solving this pressing issue, we're taking a proactive approach by proposing the establishment of a comprehensive funding program. This program is designed to cater to those who possess a strong desire to learn but lack the necessary opportunities and financial resources to do so. Through our funding program, these individuals can acquire the skills they seek and, in turn, bring back their newfound knowledge to their communities.

The beauty of this initiative lies in its dual impact. Those who benefit from the program not only enhance their personal growth but also become catalysts for positive change within their communities. They, in turn, impart their expertise to others, creating a knowledge-sharing ecosystem that uplifts not only individual lives but also the entire community's economic prospects. This grassroots approach is a fundamental step towards fostering economic resilience and empowerment at the local level. 

Process

Our comprehensive campaign will kick off with the participation of influencers who will spread the word through PR messages, generating widespread awareness for our cause. We recognize that the lack of skills is a significant barrier for local communities trying to establish their businesses. Thus, our primary goal is to address this challenge by creating opportunities for skill development. As an incentive to encourage contributions, individuals who donate will not only support this cause but will also receive tax benefits and discounts when booking tours with Local Alike.

This campaign will run for an initial period of six months, during which we'll actively engage with the public, emphasizing the importance of community-based tourism and the positive impact it can have on local economies and livelihoods. At the end of this phase, we will conduct a thorough review and open applications to local communities.

Local communities will have the opportunity to apply for funding, showcasing their aspirations for skill development and community improvement. Applicants will be required to specify the skills they aim to acquire and explain how these new competencies will contribute to the betterment of their communities. However, there is a vital condition: the skills must be directly related to the community-based tourism industry. We believe this approach ensures that the acquired skills are not only personally beneficial but are also aligned with the broader goal of promoting and enhancing local tourism, fostering economic growth, and building sustainable and resilient communities.
